Part 3: Why You Need A Wedding Planner from a Photographer’s Point of View

Part THREE of our “Why You Need A Wedding Planner” blog series!

The LIE: I’m just going to do a Day-of Coordinator, I’ll DIY everything else to save money!

The TRUTH: One of THE most-heard comments. And here’s why we don’t agree with Day-of Coordination or DIY-ing yourself insane!

                                   i.      They are not involved in all of the detail-oriented and important processes and selections that happen before they jump in! For example, having a Planner who is there to hold your hand from Day 1 means that they have experience with awesome vendors, knowledge of whose personalities will fit with yours, and those whose styles will all gel together in a perfect aesthetic to bring your vision fully to realization!

ii.      They are not there to review contracts and make sure that everything is above-board with the Vendors you choose! They know how to quickly spot issues if they offer contract review, which honestly? You don’t have time for! And, by the month or two before when they jump in, it’s too late for them to fix any decisions you’ve already made!

iv.      Let’s cut to the chase FOR REAL: In the time it will take you to figure out something you’ve never done before, and with the money you’ll spend DIY-ing things, you could have actually gotten an entire OTHER job to help with Wedding expenses, rather than wasting your time on something you’re not already an expert at.
